Within this seminary you take the leadership of a team with the intent to further understand the process of innovating by using practical methods. Learn to understand what it means to take responsibility for a project, motivate your teammates and create an environment for free creativity, changes and efficient working. Besides strategic and visionary thinking a great leader needs a lot of competencies for effective problem solving and making the right decisions. Leadership qualities cannot be learnt just by reading a book, but must be acquired actively by working on real problems and learn from real mistakes. There is no THE leadership style. There is a multitude of different leadership styles, which depend on the personality of the leader and can be utilized intuitively. In order to lead your team from an idea to a prototype or complete product, you need a time and action plan, which will have to be adjusted momentarily, when Difficulties/Challenges arise. The communication inside the team must be harmonized, where as the leader has to include the members in pursuance of keeping an overview of the project. This seminar would be conducted by Sultan Haider, who is founder and head of Innovation Think Tank at Siemens Healthcare. 3. Interdisciplinary innovations in Medical Engineering

 Description:

The first step for an innovation is to identify a problem in an observation. With medical engineering there is a need for collaboration between various disciplines. Innovation Think Tank at Siemens Healthcare is a platform for stimulating interdisciplinary innovations within Siemens Healthcare. The founder and managing director for Innovation Think Tank is a Principal Key Expert with over 200 inventions filed with Siemens AG. www.siemens.com/innovationthinktank Content: 1. Theory: Interdisciplinary Innovations in Medical Engineering, what is an invention and what steps are needed to make it an innovation? Real life examples, communication techniques for selling an idea, entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship: Challenges and opportunities 2.Group brainstorming sessions on working on real life challenge from medical engineering especially on topics from 1. 3. Rapid Prototyping workshop on selected examples and best practices 4.Group project and presentation Compentence achievments: The main objective of the program is to develop out of box thinking for solving the most simple to the most complex real life problem in medical engineering. Interdisciplinary collaboration is needed in areas where complementary competences are necessary for not only implementation but also for conception. The program provides students and professionals a possibility to make use of the existing knowledge and resources for identifying and solving the problems in medical engineering area.
